UNCORRUPTED VERSES (An Interpretation of Sonnet 19 by William Shakespeare)

Oh, time! Indeed, it consumes everything in its path
It passes by, it performs destructive acts
It runs out, it rushes the past
It corrupts exquisite moments and won’t make it last.

Oh, Time! I’ll let you ravage all the things I have
Decay my fortune, draw lines on my face
But please! Oh, please! I beg of you
Never touch my beloved’s grace.

However, if time will still ruin my love’s fairness
I’ll spend the remaining time staring at his stillness
Then I’ll write lines to serve as witnesses
How I immortalized the image of my dearest.

Time may taint, tarnish his perfection
It may even blur my own vision
But in my eyes, his beauty will remain unparalleled
Untouched, uncorrupted in these verses.
